    This well furnished self catering Air-conditioned ** 2 bedroom apartment is located in the south of Malta, 5 to 10 minutes walk from the sea and is in the fishing village of Marsascala. The apartment is in a small block of apartments,-on the 1st floor.

    On entering through the common entrance you have a spacious hall leading to 2 bedrooms on your right (1 double and the other has 2 single beds.

    The bedrooms are spacious and equipped with wardrobes, dressing table etc. In between the bedrooms is the bathroom which has a full size bath and shower, washbasin and neat towel storage shelving. A washing machine is available here. The living area comprises of a sofa that opens up as an extra bed , ideal when the two bedrooms are occupied. There is a Tv with local channels, of which some English programs are often shown during the day.

    The open plan kitchen and dining area is adjacent to the living area, stylish in design creating a welcoming warm feeling to make you feel at home. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances for your self catering requirements during your holiday in malta. From the apartment location you will be close to the sea, amenities and all you need to cater for yourself whilst on holiday in malta . A long terrace is accessible from the living area.

    The village of Marsascala Malta is an old fishing village, you will find two beaches and restaurants in the main area. Other towns and villages are not far away as Malta is a small island , however we always recommend hiring a car if you want to get around more freely. On the other hand a bus stop is only a few minutes walk, which takes you to Valletta ( Capital city) from there you can take another bus to any other town or village on the island.

    Owners greet and give additional details about places of interest and all other information you might need during your stay.

    The mill room has been converted into a large open space, kitchen, dining and living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the facilities, i.e., electric oven, gas hob, microwave oven, fridge, freezer, electric kettle and toaster.

    The dining area is fit for 10 persons and the sitting area is equipped with very comfortable sofas and 2 sofa beds, with TV, DVD facilities and a working desk.
    On the ground floor one finds a bathroom with shower and there is also a patio with some garden furniture.

    On the 1st floor there is a balcony overlooking the patio. There is a double bedroom, one twin room and a triple room with an en-suite bathroom. Besides, a spare comfortable and foldable bed is always available. On this floor there is also another common bathroom with shower.

    On the top floor there is a washroom with washing machine and drying facilities. Also, for your comfort, when organising a barbeque you will also find a kitchenette with fridge, freezer and toilet. On the roof garden you will find a charcoal barbeque. The terrace is decorated with garden furniture such as sunbeds, dinner table, parasol & chairs. One of the main attractions offered here is a large 8 person heated jacuzzi situated on the roof terrace where one can enjoy a 360 degrees view of the beautiful island of Gozo.

    Location and Area of Il-Mithna.

    Xewkija, which is situated between Ghajnsielem and the capital town, Victoria, is the oldest village in Gozo. This makes it close to everywhere since the island is just 4 miles by 9 miles. The farmhouse is just 1.5km from the closest beach which is called Mgarr ix-Xini. It is a beautiful unspoilt beach with just a couple of boat houses and a nice little restaurant. Xewkija is just 25 minutes walk from Victoria which is the main town where you will find the citadel and all the museums, the market and also the shopping centres.

    The other village next to Xewkija is Xaghra where one can find other attractions such as the oldest standing temple in the world, Calypso cave and other places of interest. In Xewkija there is a diving centre, restaurants, and bars. Just 1 minute walk away from the farmhouse one can find the finest and most renowned bakery in Gozo and several groceries and butchers' shops. Xewkija is a nice and traditional village where to walk through, the roads of which lead to the picturesque valley of Mgarr ix-Xini or to Ta' Cenc Cliffs. Here one can have a look at the prehistoric cart ruts and dolmens.

    The word Xewkija is derived from the Arabic language and the meaning behind it implies that there had been vast fields full of thorns in the past. Xewkija is well known for its majestic church - the Rotunda - which is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. This church, which replaced a much older one, also accomodates the Seat of the Knights of the Order of St. John. It was built fro Maltese stone by local masons and craftsmen. It is the largest in Gozo and its dome dominates the village. Its architect was Joseph D'Amato.

    When one enters the village from the main road one sees the remains of a mill erected in the times of Grand Master Perellos. This is a unique mill in Gozo because it has points which show the eight principal wind directions.

    On the site where the present church is, it is said that there was a stone known as 'Maqghad ix-Xih'. Near it there is a small ancient chapel known as Madonna tal-Hniena (Our Lady of Charity) which is dedicated to San Bartolomeo. There is a tower with the oldest sundial in Xewkija. Remains of Tinghi Tower disappeared in the last century. These towers date back to 1613. Another 14th century tower which was used by the Grandmasters as a summer residence was the Tower of Gorgion, also in Xewkija. It was demolished (brought down) to make way for a temporary airport during the Second World War.

    The coat of arms of Xewkija is a shield on a gold background with a red horizontal strip between two thorns, one above and one below.
    The population of Xewkija is about 3,550 and its area is 4km sq.
